This Weekend in New York City

Hey friends...It's Bobby....

Hooray! It's the weekend. So, how did I spend it?

Saturday takes me to Union Square, where I spend the morning at the outdoor market. In addition to the wonderful fruits and veggies, I satisfy my addictions to Martin's pretzels and to Rockhill Bakery's biscotti.

Then on to Pret a Manger for midmorning coffee.Time to go home to read the N.Y. Times.

Dinner takes me to Aldea, a Portuguese, Mediterranean, seafood restaurant, on W. 17th St.

I had the arroz de pato (duck confit, chorizo, olives and orange),with a glass of Portuguese red wine from the Duero area.

Enough about food, though you can guess, I am obsessed with food, despite my thin body.

Sunday is movie time, unless there is nothing to attract me, in which case I go to a museum or some other activity. This week I saw a movie made in Quebec called "Monsieur Lazhar".

It focuses on a classroom  and their teacher. I found it exremely moving and sad, although there are some light moments.

I enjoyed it very much.

I chose the Angelica movie house in Soho because I love the area, the movie played at the right time, and it was close to a favorite place for lunch,Tarralucci et Vino on 1st Ave. and 10th St.
Lots of paninis to choose from. Finally back home,I can indulge in the Sunday N.Y.Times

See you next weekend.

    1. Where do you live now? There have been severa attempts to get me to move, but I wouldn't hear about it. Not
that N.Y.C. is ideal, buy I love it.

    1. So do I,especially since The Spring vaggies are
beginning to appear early due to the warm
      weather-asparagus and strawberries.

  4. Hello 'Mom'. I'm Shari and I adore your daughter. She is one of the most divine soul's I have ever met. Now, on to Aldea where I have eaten twice and struggled with the menu each time. Yet, it's always recommended by others. I went to Tamarind last week for Indian food. The have 1 Michelin star! It was delicious and I recommend it. Can't wait for this week's movie recommendation. So happy you did a blog. Now I don't have to ask Rachelle each week what movie you last saw.
